The Dubuque Community School District will host a “School Speak” event at 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, at the district’s administrative offices at 2300 Chaney Road.
The forum, designed to provide additional opportunities for conversation between administrators and community members, will include short presentations on district finances and the district’s teacher leadership initiatives.
The district’s financial outlook has been negatively impacted by low supplemental state aid and, moving forward, the district will continue working to reduce the amount of its unspent balance used to offset shortfalls in general fund expenditures.
One of the first districts in the state to implement a new Teacher Leadership System, Dubuque is leading the way in its model of enhancing instruction through collaborative professional learning by and for teachers.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session about the presentation topics or any other school-district-related issue.
