The Dubuque Community School District will host its first “School Speak” event at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the district’s administrative offices at 2300 Chaney Road.
The new forum is an effort by the district to provide additional opportunities for conversation between administrators and community members. The topic for the first School Speak will be the district’s use of One-Cent Sales Tax and Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) funding and the impact it has had on the district and the community.
Each session will begin with a brief presentation about a school district topic or initiative, followed by a question-and-answer session about that topic or any other school-district-related issue.
“We are committed to continually having open dialogue with our families and community members,” said Superintendent Stan Rheingans. “We have made great strides in this area over the past few years and this is another opportunity to share the great things happening in the district and have conversations about school topics that citizens are interested in.”
