The Dubuque Community School District’s annual surplus auction will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, outside the district’s buildings and grounds office at 2300 Chaney Road. The auction, conducted by Hess & Johnston Auction Service, begins at 4 p.m. and is open to the public.
This annual event features a variety of items including: various tables, desks and chairs; book cases, file cabinets and metal wardrobes; audio speakers; pianos; science equipment; a kiln; many tools and shop equipment; an electric stove, Kitchen Aide mixer and other food equipment; a driver’s education simulator; and a 1992 GMC step van.
Payment for all items must be made the day of the auction via cash or check, with an ID required. Funds raised from the auction benefit the Dubuque Community School District and allow for no-longer used items to be reclaimed and reused instead of being disposed of. Past years have seen over 130 bidders at the auction.
